Omoyele Sowore, leader of the #RevolutionNow movement, has declared President Bola Tinubu’s first year in office a catastrophic failure, denouncing the administration as having achieved nothing but misery and disappointment.
Omoyele Sowore made this known during a candid interview, he underscored the depths to which inflation had sunk under President Bola Tinubu’s leadership, reaching levels never before witnessed in Nigeria’s history.
Sowore also pointed to two additional facets of the president’s perceived misrule.
Sowore lamented that unemployment had soared to alarmingly high levels under Tinubu’s watch, posing a serious threat to the economic well-being of the nation. Moreover, he observed, the already-pervasive insecurity in Nigeria had intensified during Tinubu’s tenure, leaving many citizens gripped by fear and uncertainty.
“If I was a teacher and I had to score this regime after one year, I would have dissolved the class; there is nothing to score. I will take it as my responsibility to inform the authorities, that for one year we learnt nothing.
“Inflation has gone to almost a percentage it has never been before, unemployment has become a major problem and insecurity has got worse in the last one year,” he said.
In another Twitter post directed at President Bola Tinubu, Omoyele Sowore coined the neologism “Shegecracy” to describe the president’s first year in office, suggesting that the country has been plunged into a state of deep-rooted chaos.
“Today is Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu regime’s first anniversary of ‘Shegecracy’”, he said.
