Highlighting the devastating impact of hunger on all Nigerians, human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called on the nation to unite against the economic “ruins” caused by President Tinubu’s policies.
Taking to his X handle (Formerly Twitter), Sowore urged Nigerians across the country and around the world to join the #June12Protest organized by the Take It Back Movement to make their voices heard and demand change.
He wrote, “Hunger is no respecter of anyone! Nigerians across the nation and the globe are invited to join the nationwide protest against the Tinubu @officialabat regime tomorrow, which will be organized by the @TIBmovement #RevolutionNow.”
Earlier reports had revealed that the Take It Back Movement including Nigerian civil societies, African Action Congress party, and others, have planned a mass nationwide protest on June 12 against hardship and hunger under President Bola Tinubu’s government.
They blame the removal of the fuel subsidy for the skyrocketing prices of goods and services, making life unaffordable for average Nigerians. The groups accuse the government and its associates of corruption and living in luxury while citizens suffer.
They urged Nigerians to join the peaceful protest to demand systemic change and reclaim their country from exploitative elites.
