Immediate Release of Omoyele Sowore Demanded:
The Take It Back Movement (TIB), Kaduna State Chapter, strongly condemns the illegal detention of Activist Omoyele Sowore by the Nigerian Police Force on 6/08/2025.
We are appalled by the alleged injury caused to him while in custody, which is a clear indication of the police’s disregard for human rights and dignity.
We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Omoyele Sowore, a champion of fundamental freedoms and human rights in Nigeria.
His detention is a blatant attempt to silence his voice and stifle his advocacy for justice, equality, and good governance.
A few weeks ago, Sowore was in the streets demanding for a better welfare for men of the Nigerian Police Force but this is what he gets in reward.
The Nigerian Police Force has a history of using oppressive tactics to silence dissent, and Sowore’s detention is a stark reminder of this.
We condemn the police’s actions and call on the authorities to respect citizens’ rights to free speech and assembly.
We stand in solidarity with Omoyele Sowore and fellow activists who continue to fight for a better Nigeria. We urge Nigerians to join us in demanding his release and calling for an end to police brutality and intimidation.
We demand the immediate and unconditional release of Omoyele Sowore.
The police must be held accountable for their actions, and those responsible for Sowore’s injury must face justice.
The Nigerian Police Force must respect citizens’ rights to free speech, assembly, and association.
Signed:
Comrade Shedrack Danladi,
Coordinator, Take It Back Movement
Kaduna State Chapter.
