Pastor Enenche Accuses Member of False Testimony, Sparks Online Reaction

In a controversial incident, Pastor Paul Enenche, the Senior Pastor of Dunamis International Gospel Centre, Abuja, has publicly humiliated and accused a member of his congregation of dishonesty during a testimony session.

The video that circulated on social media yesterday, Sunday, depicted Pastor Enenche interrogating a church member during a testimony session, openly doubting the authenticity of her story and questioning her credibility. The clip quickly gained traction among the online community, sparking widespread discussion and criticism about the pastor’s alleged treatment of his parishioners.

During her testimony, church member Anyim Vera claimed to have graduated with a “BSc in Law” from the National Open University of Nigeria, only to be abruptly interrupted by Enenche, who accused her of lying. The pastor alleged that Vera’s manner of speaking didn’t reflect that of a Law graduate and pointed out that there is no such degree as a “BSc in Law”. Enenche then proceeded to order Vera off the pulpit in a public display of humiliation.

In light of the incident, internet users have managed to track down Anyim Vera’s Facebook page, where they found photos of her graduation from NOUN. Moreover, a list of graduates who took part in the university’s convocation ceremony on April 13 was uncovered, with Vera’s name clearly visible among the names, which seems to corroborate Vera’s claims about her academic qualifications.

This has sparked intense discussions on social media, with divergent opinions about the incident. Some people demand that Pastor Enenche apologize for his behavior towards Anyim Vera, while others stand behind the pastor and his questioning of Vera’s testimony.

A segment of social media users has speculated that Vera’s supposed lack of eloquence may have contributed to the misunderstanding, while many others firmly believe that the pastor’s actions were too harsh and a display of poor judgment. The online debate continues to rage, with many questioning the pastor.
