A New Year’s Call to Action: End the Cycle of Suffering and Smiling in Nigeria, Written by Comrade Ufezime Nelson Ubi

Happy New Year, Nigerians! As we step into 2025, I extend my solidarity to all who continue to endure the crushing weight of hardship under the oppressive Tinubu-led administration. This is not merely the start of a new year—it is a pivotal moment for reflection, bold action, and the courage to challenge the entrenched structures perpetuating suffering across our nation.

For decades, Nigerians have been trapped in a cycle of suffering and smiling—a resilience born of necessity but weaponized by those in power to keep the masses subdued. Today, it is clear that the Tinubu government, like many before it, thrives on exploiting this endurance. It operates a system where citizens, preoccupied with survival, are left with little space to demand accountability or justice.

Under this administration, economic hardship has intensified, corruption continues unchecked, and public policies remain skewed in favor of the political elite. Prices soar as wages stagnate, public services deteriorate, and insecurity remains rampant. Nigerians have been forced to bear the brunt of a government more focused on consolidating power than addressing the needs of its people.

The Call for Change: #RevolutionNow

The time for passive endurance is over. As we embrace 2025, the demand for #RevolutionNow must echo across every corner of this nation. This is not just a slogan—it is a demand for radical, systemic change. Revolution is not simply about protest; it is about organizing, educating, and empowering Nigerians to understand and wield the power of their voices.

True revolution dismantles oppressive structures and replaces them with systems that prioritize justice, equity, and democracy. It seeks to rebuild a nation that serves all its citizens, not a privileged few.

A Warning Against Inaction

If we do not act decisively now, future generations will inherit a Nigeria defined by poverty, corruption, and despair. The weight of inaction will not only crush this generation but also extinguish the hopes and dreams of those yet to come.

Let this year mark the turning point—when we rise collectively to demand accountability, challenge mediocrity in leadership, and reject the normalization of suffering. Revolution is never easy, but the cost of silence is far greater.

Together, We Can Build a Better Nigeria

In 2025, let us replace endurance with action, complacency with courage, and despair with hope. The power to create change lies with the people. When we rise, organize, and persist, no force can suppress our collective will.

This year must mark the beginning of the end for suffering and smiling. It is time to say, “Enough is enough.” Let us unite in our determination to build a Nigeria that reflects the true aspirations of its people. The revolution begins now.
