The recent surge in terrorism across Nigeria has left citizens feeling helpless and frustrated. The government’s inability to provide security has led to a sense of desperation, with many wondering if a revolution is the only solution. As the situation worsens, the question remains: what will be the outcome of this impending revolution?
The Normalization of Violence is a disturbing Trend in Nigeria. The value of human life has been eroded, and the killing of innocent citizens has become alarmingly commonplace. It has become normal for politicians and their supporters to view the loss of one life as insignificant, with attention only garnered when multiple lives are lost. This desensitization to violence is a stark reminder of the government’s failure to protect its citizens.
The Politicization of Terrorism is a Recipe for Disaster and it is obvious that the government’s response to terrorism has been criticized for being inadequate and ineffective. Rather than addressing the root causes of terrorism, the government seems to be more interested in politicizing the issue. The recent trend of terrorists being given amnesty and even recruited into the military is a disturbing development that raises more questions than answers. This approach not only undermines the government’s efforts to combat terrorism but also emboldens terrorists, who see it as a sign of weakness.
The Human Cost of Terrorism: A Nation in Crisis
The impact of terrorism on ordinary Nigerians has been devastating. Lives have been lost, families have been displaced, and communities have been torn apart. The government’s failure to provide security has created a sense of hopelessness and despair among citizens. The economic toll of terrorism has also been significant, with many businesses shutting down and investors fleeing the country. Recently, in Benue State, at a community called chito, terrorist took over in multiple crowed operating free in a broad day light. The recent killings of over 100s in plateau State at every attacking intervals and seizure of some part of Maiduguri’s communities has destroyed allot of lives, properties and businesses with farmers being taken over. In a situation where all security agencies are nowhere to be found, what next should be than to resolve to a socialist revolution?
The Culture of Impunity with our Nation is already a huge Threat to Stability. Impunity that has taken hold in Nigeria is a major obstacle to stability and security. Terrorists and bandits are allowed to roam free, killing and maiming innocent citizens without fear of consequences. The government’s inability to hold these individuals accountable has created a sense of lawlessness, where might makes right. This has led to a situation where citizens are forced to take matters into their own hands. The question is whether the resolve to a resolution would exceed the socialist methods and processes of revolting but definitely, a revolution is the answer at this point.
The Call for Self-Defense: A Desperate Measure at this point in time. Nigerians should never continue to die helplessly without efforts.
With the government’s failure to provide security, some citizens are advocating for self-defense. This raises questions about the potential consequences of such a move and whether it would lead to further chaos or a semblance of order. While some argue that self-defense is a necessary measure to protect communities, others warn that it could lead to more troubles but which is more with Nigeria now than fragmentation and instability? What will you gain when you have no peace from all your life time without using the only option left? Do we all accept to be captured and be treated like weaker animals when we are human?
The End Game is Uncertain Outcomes. As Nigeria teeters on the brink of revolution, it’s essential to consider the potential outcomes. Would a revolution lead to a more stable and secure future, (YES) or would it plunge the country into further chaos? (NO). But the answer lies in the government’s ability to address the root causes of terrorism, economic hardship and provide effective security measures. It is quite obvious that a revolution without a clear vision and leadership could lead to unintended consequences, including further violence and instability; that’s when it’s not a socialist and without an agenda. The socialist revolution is still the best option for our Nation as we speak.
I call on the Government to Prioritize Citizen Safety and a totally put an end to open grazing in Nigeria which is root cause of most community crises.
The government must prioritize citizen safety and security. This requires a multifaceted approach, including PUTTING A STOP TO OPEN GRAZING AND EMBRACING RANCHES FOR HERDERS AND THEIR CATTLES, Effective Security Measures by deploying adequate security personnel and resources to combat terrorism, addressing Root Causes by Tackling poverty, inequality, and other underlying issues that fuel terrorism; Transparency and Accountability by ensuring that those responsible for violence are held accountable, regardless of their affiliations.
The Time for Action is Now
The government must take decisive action to address the terrorism crisis, Put an end to open grazing in Nigeria. The fate of Nigeria hangs in the balance, and the time for action is now. The government must prioritize the welfare and safety of its citizens, rather than allowing the country to descend into further chaos and instability. The citizens of Nigeria deserve better, and it’s time for the government to deliver. In the end, A socialist revolution is still the answer in absence of good governance.
