The Take It Back (TIB) Movement has announced the recovery of ₦5.1 million extorted from Mr. Onyeka Nwokolo by police officers attached to Alagbon, Lagos.

In a statement issued on Monday, August 18, 2025, and signed by the Lagos State Coordinator of the movement, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek, TIB confirmed that the victim’s funds had been successfully restored following its petition and intervention.
The statement credited the swift action of senior police authorities, particularly the Assistant Inspector General (AIG) in charge of Alagbon and Commissioner of Police (CP) Akinyemi of the X-Squad, Alagbon, for their “professionalism and commitment to justice.”
“We deeply appreciate the swift and decisive action of the AIG and CP Akinyemi, whose professionalism and commitment to justice ensured that this matter was promptly addressed and the victim’s funds restored,” the statement read.
The group also commended Barrister Bolaji M. Oluwatosin, who it said was physically present with the victim, providing legal representation and ensuring due process throughout the recovery process.
Despite welcoming the recovery, the movement insisted that the officers involved—identified as Commander Kalu, Supol Olamilekan, and others—must face prosecution.
“While we commend the leadership of the Nigeria Police at Alagbon for showing that accountability and integrity are still possible within the force, we continue to demand that the officers involved face the full weight of the law for their criminal acts,” the statement added.
