Take-It-Back Movement Blasts Lagos CP Olohundare Jimoh for Lawless Harassment of Omoyele Sowore
The Take-It-Back Movement condemns in the strongest possible terms the reckless, unprofessional, and contemptuous actions of the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Olohundare Jimoh, in his desperate attempt to criminalise pro-democracy activist Omoyele Sowore.
Despite a clear restraining order from the Federal High Court, Lagos, barring him and the Nigeria Police from declaring Sowore “wanted”, Commissioner Jimoh has arrogantly persisted — shamelessly citing a laughable excuse that Sowore “has no NYSC certificate.”
This excuse is not only irrelevant and ridiculous, it exposes the depth of incompetence and political servitude now defining the Lagos command.
Let it be clear:
Declaring a citizen wanted after a valid court injunction is contempt of court and a direct assault on democracy. Jimoh’s behaviour is not law enforcement — it is political thuggery in uniform.
Instead of persecuting Sowore, the Lagos CP should immediately:
- Obey the court order and withdraw every illegal declaration or instruction against Sowore.
- Investigate the leaked audio allegedly from APC political thugs plotting to assassinate Sowore — a matter of national security now gathering public outrage.
- Stop the coordinated harassment of Take-It-Back members and other peaceful activists exercising their constitutional rights.
The Take-It-Back Movement will not tolerate this abuse of power.
If Commissioner Jimoh continues this path of lawlessness, we will hold him personally accountable, in court, in public, and before the global community. Sowore has already filed a ₦500 million lawsuit against the Lagos CP and the Police for this reckless violation of his rights.
Let it be known: Nigeria is not a police state.
No uniform, no office, and no political godfather is above the Constitution.
