INCESSANT KILLINGS ON THE PLATEAU: THIS BLOODSHED MUST END
Since April 2023, over 2,218 Nigerians have been massacred in Plateau State, yet all the Tinubu and Mutfwang-led administratiion have done is to offer tepid condemnations and lifeless press releases.
Entire communities have been razed, lives shattered, and futures buried, while those sworn to defend the people live in Villas guarded by battalions of security agents in Aso Villa and Little Rayfield.
We declare without apology: This bloodletting must end or these regimes must go!
The Nigerian Constitution is not a suggestion. Section 14(2)(b) makes it clear: “The security and welfare of the people shall be the primary purpose of government.” Any government that watches its citizens slaughtered without decisive action has lost every claim to legitimacy.
We are done mourning in silence. The people are not lambs for the slaughter. This is not governance; it is complicity.
Why do these killings happen again and again in the same areas without intervention?
With about 10 trillion allocated for defence and security sector, where are the trillions?
Who protects the murderers?
We demand:
- Immediate resignation of Plateau state governor, Caleb Mutfwang. He has shown gross incompetence in his duty as chief security officer of Plateau state.
- Immediate end to the ongoing massacre in Plateau state.
- Public arrest and trial of the perpetrators and their elite sponsors.
- Full compensation and rebuilding for all affected families.
- Resignation of all failed security chiefs and complicit officials.
The Take It Back Movement stands in total solidarity with the people of Plateau and oppressed Nigerians everywhere. We call on all residents, and people of plateau state to rise against this tragic spate of killings. Enough is Enough!
