TIB Lagos Chapter Appoints New Deputy Coordinator, Organising Secretary, and Publicity Team

The Lagos State Chapter of the Take It Back Movement (TIB) has announced new appointments into key leadership positions following deliberations at its General Meeting held on December 14, 2025, in Apapa, Lagos State.

The appointments were made to fill long-standing vacant positions within the state chapter, as part of efforts to strengthen internal coordination, organisation, and public engagement of the movement.

At the meeting, chaired by Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeeq, the Lagos State Coordinator, the position of Deputy Coordinator was filled with the nomination of Comrade Folayemi Akinfolarin, popularly known as BossLady. Her nomination was put forward by the Coordinator and seconded by Comrade Iya Wura, alongside other comrades present.

The nomination was unanimously accepted by members through a consensus decision.

For the position of Organising Secretary, the Coordinator presented a nominee following observations earlier raised on the need for improved structure and mobilisation within the chapter.

The nomination was seconded by the Secretary of the chapter and subsequently adopted by the house without objection.

In a bid to strengthen the movement’s media presence and public communication, the chapter also reconstituted its Publicity Secretary positions. Two comrades were appointed to serve in that capacity:

Comrade Opeyemi Benjamin was appointed as Publicity Secretary (PRO I)

Comrade Adeyemi who is also known as Humanist was appointed as Publicity Secretary (PRO II)

Both appointments were ratified by consensus of the meeting.

Speaking at the conclusion of the session, the Lagos State Coordinator congratulated all newly appointed officers and reiterated the movement’s commitment to building a cohesive, accountable, and effective leadership structure capable of advancing grassroots struggles across the state.

He further assured the appointees that their electronic appointment letters would be issued in due course.

The appointments mark a new phase for the Take It Back Movement Lagos State Chapter as it continues to reorganise and position itself for sustained activism, mobilisation, and resistance against injustice across communities in Lagos State.
