Ex-Kogi Governor Yahaya Bello Declared Wanted by EFCC

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a warrant for the immediate arrest of former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Bello. The EFCC, Nigeria’s premier financial crimes enforcement agency, has called on the public to provide information on Bello’s whereabouts in order to bring him in for questioning and potential prosecution.

The EFCC’s public statement, released via their official Facebook page on Thursday, announced that Yahaya Bello was wanted for a range of alleged economic and financial crimes.

Part of the statement read, “Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 billion.

“Anybody with information as to his whereabout should report immediately to the commission or the nearest police station,”
