Sowore Exposes Transfer of TIB National Coordinator, Juwon Sanyaolu From DSS Custody to SARS Lagos Center

Human rights activist and the Convener of the RevolutionNow movement, Omoyele Sowore has exposed the transfer of Take It Back Movement National Coordinator, Sanyaolu Juwon from DSS custody to the infamous SARS Lagos Center following his arrest for organizing the June 12 protest.

Sowore who took to his Twitter handle (Formerly X) on Thursday evening, share his indignation at the transfer of TIB Coordinator Sanyaolu Juwon to the Lagos State SARS Center. In his post, Sowore vehemently asserted that the authorities cannot suppress Juwon, the TIB movement, or the #RevolutionNow cause, proclaiming that “an idea whose time has come” cannot be silenced.

“#FreeJuwonSanyaolu NOW: Just heard aka DSS @OfficialDSSNG has now returned Comrade @AyowoleSanyaolu to the notorious Lagos @PoliceNG SARS detention center at the Lagos State Command in Ikeja.  They can’t stop Juwon Sanyaolu; they can’t stop an idea whose time has come! They can’t stop the @TIBmovement, and definitely, they can’t stop the #RevolutionNow!”, he wrote.

In a brazen act of suppression, the national coordinator of Take It Back (TIB) Movement, Sanyaolu Juwon, was abducted from his Lagos residence on the night of June 11th, at approximately 10:05pm. The reason for his abduction: planning a protest to draw attention to the devastating economic hardship in Nigeria, which has left countless citizens struggling in hunger, poverty and starvation.

This development has raised concerns among many, with people calling on the authorities to respect the right to peaceful protest and to release Juwon immediately.

Meanwhile, the economic situation in the country remains dire, with many Nigerians struggling to make ends meet. The government has yet to offer a response to these concerns.
