Prominent human rights activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore has called out President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his extravagant purchases within just one year of his presidency.
Taking to his Facebook page on Monday night, Sowore stressed that despite Tinubu’s claim that one year isn’t enough to improve the country’s economic situation, he has acquired a yacht, jet, bulletproof Escalade, and a mansion for the Vice President.
He wrote, “Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu said one year isn’t enough for Nigerians to enjoy a better country but look at what’s he’s bought for himself in just ONE YEAR! -Yacht, Jet, BulletProof Escalade, Mansion for VP, etc… #RevolutionNow”
Sowore’s criticism comes as Nigerians continue to grapple with the effects of a worsening economic crisis, raising questions about the government’s priorities and commitment to addressing the struggles of everyday citizens.
Reports earlier revealed that President Tinubu’s media aide, Bayo Onanuga in a statement issued on X, made it known that the president, on Monday left the country for an official trip to Paris, the capital city of France.
