Activists recently gathered to pay tribute to the fearless lawyer and former Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch Chairman, Adesina Ogunlana, Esq.

The lawyer who passed away few days after celebrating his 60th birthday was remembered as a passionate advocate and voice for the voiceless. Activists such as Kunle Ajayi Wizeman, Goonz, Femi Adeyeye, Ayo Oni, Sanyaolu Juwon, Banwo Olagokun, and A3, among many others, attended the funeral proceedings to pay their respects to this remarkable figure in the fight for justice and equality.

The funeral proceedings continued with a requiem service at St. Luke The Physician Anglican Church, LASUTH, Lagos, before his loved ones proceeded to Mowe for the final burial rites.
Adesina Ogunlana, Esq., who is a dedicated lawyer and former chairman of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) Ikeja Branch from 2016 to 2018, passed away on August 6, 2024.

His unexpected death came as a shock, with no apparent signs of illness preceding his passing. Ogunlana’s commitment to justice and human rights made him a beloved figure in the legal community, and his untimely departure has left a void that will be difficult to fill.
A close associate of Adesina Ogunlana, Esq., expressed deep sadness upon learning of the lawyer’s untimely death on August 6, 2024.
Reflecting on Ogunlana’s unwavering commitment to fighting injustice, the associate noted that the former NBA Ikeja Branch chairman was found at his desk, doing what he loved most – advocating for justice. With heavy hearts, they described Ogunlana as a “doggedly relentless man” and wished his soul to rest in eternal power, as the legal community mourned the loss of an inspiring figure.
He said, “It is a very sad day. Words alone can’t express how sad I felt hearing of the demise of this doggedly relentless man, Adesina Ogunlana. He died at his desk doing what he loved most, fighting for justice for all. May his soul rest in eternal power.”
