Kwara Children Chant ‘Tinubu Ole’ in Viral Protest Against Hardship in Nigeria

In a viral video, dozens of Kwara children under 15 chanted “Tinubu Ole” (Tinubu is a thief) while protesting the government of President Bola Tinubu.

Waving leaves and lamenting the growing hardship in Nigeria, the young demonstrators called out the ruling APC for its failure to address the country’s pressing economic and governance issues.

The children are heard saying: “Tinubu. Thief. This suffering is enough. We are tired and we cannot continue like this.”

In another video that is now circulating  online, another set of children were also protesting in front of the Emir of Ilorin’s palace. The protesters were also heard lamenting hunger and hardship created by policies of the APC government.

Last week, Nigeria’s former Head of State, General Abdulsalami Abubakar, has lamented the acute hunger, hardship and the worsening economic conditions in the country, saying that the situation is “getting out of control.”

Abubakar raised the alarm while hosting the leadership of the Campaign for Democracy and Human Rights, led by Abdullahi Mohammed Jabi, at his uphill residence in Minna, Niger State, on Tuesday.

The former military head of state highlighted the struggles of many Nigerians in meeting basic needs such as food and transportation.

“Everyone is complaining about the hardship, and it seems to be getting out of control. People can’t afford three square meals.

“The rise in transportation costs, fuel prices, school fees, and the lack of money in people’s pockets is making life unbearable,” he stated.
