The Nigeria Police Force, Lagos State Command has invited the National Coordinator of Take It Back (TIB) Movement, a prominent human rights advocacy organisation, Mr. Sanyaolu Juwon, for a meeting.
The invitation letter was dated September 24, 2024 and addressed to Juwon by the Assistant Commissioner of Police, State Intelligence Department, Lagos State Police Command, ACP Jaiyeoba Idowu Joseph.
The invitation which stated in its title that the TIB national leader will be meeting with the new commissioner of police in Lagos State, asked Juwon to attend the said meeting with the executive members of the organisation.
Former Lagos police commissioner, Mr Adegoke Fayoade, last Tuesday, September 17, 2024, handed over to the new police commissioner, Mr Olanrewaju Ishola, at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
The invitation did not specifically point out that the meeting is about the scheduled #FearlessInOctober protests, but stated that it borders on issues of national interest.
Juwon and his executives, according to the invitation, are to be at the police commissioner’s office at the Lagos State Police Headquarters in Ikeja, the state capital, on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 at 11am.
The invitation reads, “The new Commissioner of Police, Lagos State Command, humbly invites you and your executive members for a meeting bordering on issues of national interest through the Assistant Commissioner of Police, in charge of the State Intelligence Department.
“The meeting is scheduled as follows: Date: Wednesday, 25th September, 2024. Time 11:00hrs. Venue: CP Office, Police Headquarters, Ikeja, Lagos.”
