Nigerian, Foreign Students Call Tinubu ‘Thief’ Demand Reversal of ‘Anti-People’ Policies, Release Detained #EndBadGovernance Protesters

A group of Nigerian, foreign students held a protest in front of the Nigerian High Commission in London demanding that President Bola Tinubu reverse his “anti-poor policies” and drop all charges against those arrested during the #EndBadGovernance protests.

The demonstration which unfolded on October 5th, 2024, was organized by the socialist student group ‘Fight for Socialism,’. They expressed their outrage over President Bola Tinubu’s “anti-poor policies” and the arrests of #EndBadGovernance protesters.

Armed with placards displaying slogans such as “Drop all charges and release protesters” and “Reverse all anti-poor policies,” the students passionately voiced their demands for change. Footage captured the unified chants of “When I say Tinubu, you say thief,” as demonstrators made it clear that they would not stand idly by in the face of governmental inaction and policies that negatively impact the lives of Nigeria’s most vulnerable citizens.

The group’s demands include not only the release of detained protesters but also bring an end to the policies they believe harm Nigeria’s poorest citizens.

The protest took place at the Nigerian High Commission in WC2N 5BX, London.
