Ahmed Isah, the renowned activist and radio personality behind the popular “Brekete Family” programme, has issued a stern warning to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. Isah asserts that despite potential attempts to sway voters with food handouts such as beans, rice, and soap, Tinubu’s reelection in 2027 will ultimately hinge on his performance during his current term.
Isah emphasizes that Nigerians deserve more than mere handouts, urging citizens to focus on demanding genuine progress and improvement rather than being distracted by short-term gains.
This warning sighted in a video via X is a response to the current administration’s perceived shortcomings and increased cost of living coupled with economic hunger.
Isah’s statement emphasized that politicians’ handouts are mere gimmicks to sway voters, and ultimately, do not address the underlying issues plaguing the country.
The Berekete Family anchor said: “Ahmed Tinubu, if you don’t perform well, forget about 2027. Whether you share beans, rice, or soap, it doesn’t matter. Before I tell Nigerians to collect and not vote for them. Now, don’t accept anything from them. The hunger that didn’t kill you, won’t kill you.
“And if you take that thing (handouts), how long will it sustain you? Don’t belittle yourself, don’t make a fool of yourself by accepting that rubbish they come to distribute. People won’t remember you; they’ll only remember you during the campaign. And after that, it will be another four years, and you’re still following them.”
