Pa. Egbetokun, IGP, Should Retire & Go Home, Written by Adeola Soetan

Extension of tenure kills service morale & discipline in the Force.. It politicises the force or any institution and destroys its agelong ethics. When a Force becomes a Force of anything goes, it dies morally.

Pa. Egbetokun, avoid rogue politicians intrigues. Integrity counts! Having served the force meritoriously or otherwise for 35 years, Pa. Egbetokun should see the police force as his first love, not his extra personal benefits unleashed on him by the president.

Politicians can do anything good, and all bad things to destroy institutions of State since most of them have no scruple beyond power and selfish personal and group interests over and above national interests. Show me that institution of State that unprincipled bourgeois power mongering policians can’t destroy, I will show you a virgin in a maternity ward, apology to Bongos Ikwue, a foremost soul artiste.

It’s rare men of honour particularly in those State institutions including police, armed forces, judiciary, MDAs who will not allow themselves to be used as ambitious stupid pawn to destroy the institution they cherish so much. The ball is now in the court of Pa. Egbetokun to be honorable and show the nation that the Nigeria Police Force he served for 35 years is different from a motor park where there’s no order of succession but bad politics, brawl, killings, maiming and charming prevail.

Those clowns who say the tenure extension of Pa. Egbetokun as IGP is legal should be reminded that all bad “gbarogudu” laws that many crazy African dictators who used to destroy their countries, were all “legal” through the “cut and paste” endorsement of their respective National Hollow Chambers of purchasable, unpatriotic useful idiots. And these so called laws and the useful parliamentary idiots had never saved any beneficiary president, even military head of state and the dictatorial government unleashed on the people during popular mass movement.
This is the bitter verdict of history.
