Take It Back Global Demands Immediate Release of Comrade Seaking, Condemns Rearrest and Warns Nigerian Police Force of Consequences for Continued Oppression

The Take It Back (TIB) Global Community vehemently condemn the arrest of Olumide Ogunsanwo, popularly known as Comrade Seaking from a court in Lagos and his subsequent forced transfer to Abuja.

We express our extreme disdain for this oppressive act, which utilizes the reprehensible Section 24 of the Cyber Crimes Law to silence young voices. Such misuse of power is utterly unacceptable.

We hereby issue a stern warning to the Nigerian Police Force: Focus your resources on combating actual crimes, apprehending criminals, and ensuring the safety and security of the citizens you are sworn to protect.

The continued oppression of young individuals for merely expressing their opinions is a flagrant violation of the principles of justice and democracy, and we will not tolerate it.

We demand the immediate release of Comrade Seaking and call on the Nigerian Police Force to respect the rights of young people to freely express their opinions without fear of retribution.

From our global headquarters and international directorates spanning the world, the TIB’s international is closely monitoring this situation.

We stand united in our determination to protect the rights of young people and promote justice, freedom, and democracy.

Signed,

Dr. Chidi Nwanyanwu

Director General, TIB Global HQ
