Take It Back Movement Calls for Justice as School Management Reportedly Covers Up Sexual Misconduct

The Take It Back (TIB) movement, Lagos Chapter, has issued a statement addressing the ongoing sex-for-marks scandal involving Mr. Egberongbe Adegbenga Toheeb, a Further Mathematics teacher at Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Secondary School in Ojodu-Berger, Lagos.

The movement has condemned the school management for attempting to cover up the abuse of at least 11 girls by the teacher.

In the official press release, signed by  Adekunle Taofeeq, Lagos state chapter Coordinator, TIB revealed that Mr. Clement James Oyaohanoghena, a key whistleblower, had come forward with evidence of the abuse and the efforts by the school management to protect Mr. Egberongbe.

According to the statement, the teacher was recently granted bail for charges related to child molestation and sexually harassing teenagers, with the amount set at #300,000.

TIB expressed outrage, highlighting the discrepancy in how whistleblowers are treated compared to those accused of such serious offenses.

The press release also emphasized the need to protect whistleblowers and called on the Ministry of Education not to intimidate Mr. Clement, who is scheduled to meet with ministry officials on Monday, April 7, 2025.

TIB announced that members of the movement, along with a legal team, would accompany Mr. Clement to the meeting to ensure his safety and support his efforts to expose the truth.

Lagos TIB coordinator, Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek, stated, “Any individual who tries to cover up crime is an accomplice and not a lover of justice.” He further assured the public that the movement would not rest until justice is served and those responsible for both the abuse and the cover-up are held accountable.

The Take It Back Movement official Press Release.

4th of April 2025,

The attention of the Take It Back (TIB) movement have been drawn to the case of a sex for mark scandal that rocked Babs Fafunwa Millennium Senior Secondary School in Ojodu-Berger, Lagos State, with the management of the school actively attempting to cover up the abuse of at least 11 girls by a Further Mathematics teacher, Mr. Egberongbe Adegbenga Toheeb.

Mr. Clement James Oyaohanoghena who happens to be a key player in exposing the shenanigans of the school management who are trying to cover up for Mr. Egberongbe reached out to the Take It Back movement with evidences of the atrocities Mr. Egberongbe committed and how the school are trying to protect him.

It also got to our notice that Mr. Egberongbe was granted bail of #300,000 in court for a case of child molestation, sexually harassing teenagers. It is laughable that whistleblowers and dissent voices are being granted bail with stringent conditions to the tune of millions of naira. Dele Farotimi is right about the rot in the judicial system.

We will not allow the school and the ministry of education to intimidate Mr. Clement, infact, a whistleblower should be protected by all means. We are aware that Mr. Clement has been invited by the ministry on Monday 7th of April 2025, he will be honouring the invitation with members of the Take It Back movement accompanied by our team of lawyers.

Any invidual who tries to cover up crime is an accomplice and not lover of justice.

Adekunle Adeyemi Taofeek
Lagos TIB coordinator.
