“A Mockery of the People’s Needs”, Take It Back Movement Condemns Ekiti Politician, Government, Over Wooden Charging Booth Launch in Emure Ekiti

The Ekiti State chapter of the Take It Back (TIB) Movement has slammed the recent commissioning of a public phone charging spot constructed with planks in Emure Ekiti by a government official known as Bayo Ajayi.

In a strongly worded comment, the TIB State Coordinator, Comrade Olowoyo Moyinoluwa Gigabytes, criticized what he called the “self-serving” nature of many Nigerian politicians, questioning their commitment to genuine public service.

“Politicians seem more focused on personal gain than public service,” Olowoyo stated. “They tout solutions but often fall short. Inconsistent power supply persists, yet they rely on fuel-guzzling generators. Education remains underfunded, while they invest millions in foreign schooling for their own children. Even the roads to their homes get priority over public infrastructure. It’s time for change.”

Reacting specifically to the launch of the charging booth, Comrade Olowoyo described it as a mockery of the people’s needs, saying, “This is why a dishonored honorable can go ahead and commission a charging phone booth in the name of giving back to the society.”

He further stated that many politicians run for office purely for the prestige and perks, rather than a desire to serve the people. “Most of these guys only contested for self ego and title sake, not that they’ve any tangible thing to do or offer,” he added.
