The Take It Back (TIB) Movement Student Wing, Ondo State Chapter, has demanded urgent intervention to tackle the worsening insecurity in the state, following a violent robbery attack in Owo.

In a statement released on Saturday by Ademakin Akinloye Oluwatimilehin, a representative of the student wing, they condemned the armed robbery that occurred in the Isuada community of Owo Local Government Area, where gunmen terrorized residents through the night.
“We, the Take It Back (TIB) Students Unit Structure, Ondo State, vehemently condemn the recent robbery attack at Isuada, Owo Local Government, where heavily armed criminals subjected innocent citizens to a night of horror with relentless gunfire,” the statement read.
They expressed deep concern over the failure of the Nigerian police to respond to multiple distress calls made during the attack. “It is alarming and unacceptable that despite calls placed to over ten police officers, no meaningful response was received to protect the lives and properties of the people,” the group stated, describing the police response as “reckless, negligent, and an outright abandonment of duty.”
The TIB Student Wing demanded that the Ondo State Government and security agencies operating in the Owo area should immediately step up their constitutional responsibilities. “Owo is an ancient and peaceful town, not a battleground. Our people deserve to live without fear,” they emphasized.
They further called on youths, students, and activists across the state to remain vigilant, speak out, and organize for a safer and more just society. “Security is a fundamental right, not a privilege. We say, enough is enough,” the statement declared.
Ondo State has in recent times witnessed a surge in insecurity, including kidnappings, killings, and other forms of violent crimes, resulting in loss of lives and widespread destruction.
The state’s government and security forces have come under increasing criticism for their inability to contain the situation.
Protests have also erupted across various communities in the state, particularly against the activities of criminal elements, including rogue herders, who are often blamed for many of the violent incidents ravaging the region.
