Oriire: TERRORISTS ALSO HAVE LOVED ONES, By Adeyeye Olorunfemi

There’s no narration in this whole release and “rescue” saga that’s so hilarious than the one being propagated by one ruling class vuvuzela, self acclaimed veteran journalist, Mr Babajide Kolade-otitoju. I stumbled on his analysis during a programme at his beer parlour- the TVC.

So to the script:
The military/DSS arrested the families and LOVED ones of the terrorists and showed them and the terrorists became jittery because of that?
I do not know where the DSS learnt this genius idea from? I never knew terrorists; people who live in forests and the most hideous and dangerous places on earth, people who can strap bombs and commit suicide attacks- I never knew they have loved ones whose capture can make them repent. Where then did we keep this brilliant idea since?

In power dynamics between any section of society, there’s something called balance of forces. There was no balance of power in that kind of scenario. In such scenario they keep painting against logic, the military was weaker. For security reasons, I will not be exposing fully how stupid the script sounds.

After threatening the terrorists with the pictures/videos of their loved ones, the terrorists now waited till the military invaded them, neutralized them and rescued the Oriire victims?
Meanwhile, one of the victims in an interview yesterday; a full grown adult said he was the last to be released by the terrorist commander and was directed by him to where others they released followed. I believe he has stayed so long in the forest that he can recognize a commander. Was it that the terrorists were invaded after they released the abducted? Or we can safely say the abducted were released by the terrorists and the release became “rescue” at the exit point? These stories aren’t adding up and I believe that’s the reason Seyi Makinde as an opposing element today, is asking for an independent probe into the matter. Seyi Makinde is not the best of guys but harassing him for requesting such a probe should not be welcomed by anyone with conscience. The All Progressives Congress – APC must stop this harassment. When the probe starts, someone like Babajide Otitoloju should also be invited to give his account of the rescue operation since it appears he was part of it from the outset.
Mind you, this is without prejudice to the gallantry of our soldiers. I have heard firsthand account of how much efforts they put into some of these operations but they can’t perform beyond what power allows them to do.

And before the olodo uprising movement starts bickering at me, let me predict what they will say. “Let’s just thank God they are out. All these facts you are looking for are needless. Can’t you just praise government and rejoice for once?”.
You see, any country where transparency and accountability are always relegated during important conversations, such a country is doomed for life. Truth helps a country to calibrate correctly where it is, what it can avoid and where it is supposed to be. Lying or giving half truths to deceive ourselves will only compound our problems.

Lest I forget, where are the families and “loved ones” of the terrorists now? Killed? Still in detention? Or their pictures are framed somewhere so we can always use them to threaten terrorists? Otitoloju will have an answer. When is the probe starting?
Tinubu, we all can’t be fooled.
