Human rights activist Francis Nwapa has publicly denounced the appointment of alleged COVID-19 palliative hoarder Mojisola Ali-Macaulay to the National Social Insurance Trust Fund, calling it a flagrant act of corruption and cronyism on the part of the Tinubu administration.
Taking to his X page, Nwapa emphasized that this appointment casts serious doubt on the integrity of the social insurance trust, adding that it demonstrates a blatant disregard for the welfare of the Nigerian people, who are already struggling with poverty and the devastating effects of the COVID-19 pandemic. He urged the Nigerian people to demand accountability and transparency from their government.
Nwapa wrote, “A woman whom COVID-19 palliative could not be trusted with has been saddled with social insurance Trust fund by Tinubu. Mojisola Ali-Macaulay used COVID-19 palliatives as birthday souvenir. This further confirms the rottenness of the Tinubu administration. #EndHUNGERProtest”

In October 2020, reports had revealed how Nigerians exposed Alli-Macaulay for hoarding COVID-19 relief materials meant for residents and later using same as party packs at her birthday event.
The female lawmaker at that time had diverted the palliatives meant for her constituents and repackaged same as birthday party packs as seen in photographs which went viral after the event.
