Lagos Braces for Friday Protest as Group Seeks End to Treason Charges Against Lenin, Others

The city of Lagos is bracing for a planned protest this Friday as activists from the #EndBadGovernance movement demand the immediate dismissal of treason charges against Michael Lenin and other EndBadGovernanceInNigeria Protesters.

The group contends that the accusations are baseless and they are calling for a peaceful demonstration to express their solidarity with the accused individuals.

The group specifically demands the exoneration of Michael Adaramoye Lenin, Mosius Sodiq, Daniel Akande, Angel Innocent, and all other protesters facing treason charges.

This was made known in a recently circulated online flier. The banner features an inscription that reads, “Free Them All Now”

“By using our voices, we successfully pressured President Tinubu to release the children.

It added “Join the protest rally to demand freedom for Adaramoye Michael Lenin, Mosius Sodiq, Daniel Akande, Angel Innocent, and all #EndBadGovernance protesters on trial. Takeoff point: Ikeja Under Bridge, Lagos State, Friday, November 8, 7 a.m. Protest is not treason! Drop all charges!”

“The hunger and hardship are increasing; we can’t continue like this. Reverse the fuel price hike, bring down food prices, reduce electricity tariffs, end corruption, slash salaries and allowances of political office holders, and end all IMF/World Bank anti-poor capitalist policies now.”
