As Nigerians grapples with heartbreaking fatalities in Ibadan, Okija, and Abuja, where citizens lost their lives in desperate attempts to secure food, the Take It Back Movement passionately condemn the senseless loss of life.
The tragic incidents serve as a grim reminder of the Tinubu administration’s continuous failure to prioritize the needs and well-being of Nigerians. While the full focus is on implementation of anti people’s policies that has continue to throw the nation backward.
With citizens dying daily from hunger and starvation, Tinubu’s regime lack of urgency in addressing this crisis is a shocking abdication of responsibility.
It is also important to note that it is beyond disheartening that at a time when Nigerians are grappling with hunger, poverty, and immense suffering, the Presidency’s primary focus lies in allocating billions of Naira in the 2025 budget to repair and refurbish the residences of the President and Vice President – a clear demonstration of callousness, selfishness, and misplaced priorities.
As a movement dedicated to the welfare of the Nigerian people, we demand that the government uphold its constitutional responsibility by prioritizing the well-being of its citizens and addressing the urgent needs of the masses.
This includes reversal of policies that has thrown the nation into chaos, implementing food subsidies, ensuring equitable distribution of resources, and providing adequate social safety nets for vulnerable populations.
We stand with the people of Nigeria in denouncing the Tinubu regime’s misplaced priorities and executive impulsivity.
We demand that the government redirect its focus towards alleviating the suffering of vulnerable populations.
It is imperative that Nigerians collectively reject the prevailing culture of executive impulsivity and hold Tinubu’s regime accountable for the stark realities that the nation continues to face.
As we remember those who have needlessly lost their lives due to poor governance, we stand united in the fight for a fair, compassionate, and prosperous Nigeria.
