Take It Back Movement, Kaduna State Chapter Responds to the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN) Kaduna Chapter’s Misguided Comment on Omoyele Sowore

The attention of the Take It Back Movement (TIB), Kaduna State Chapter, has been drawn to a recent statement credited to the Kaduna State Chapter of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), alleging that activist and pro-democracy leader Omoyele Sowore poses a threat to national stability.

We find this claim not only unfortunate but a deliberate attempt to malign a man whose life’s work has been dedicated to the advancement of democracy, justice, and human rights in Nigeria.

It is shameful that an organization that should serve as a voice of conscience for Nigerian youths has instead chosen to become a mouthpiece for the oppressors who have kept our nation in the shackles of poverty, corruption, and bad governance.

For over three decades, Omoyele Sowore has stood firmly on the side of truth and the Nigerian people, often at great personal risk. From his days as a student leader confronting military dictatorships, to his continued activism for good governance, transparency, and social justice, Sowore’s sacrifices have inspired millions of young Nigerians to believe in the power of their voices and the necessity of civic engagement. His unwavering commitment to a free, fair, and democratic Nigeria is a testament to his patriotism and love for country.

The Take It Back Movement strongly condemns any attempt to demonize citizens who speak truth to power.

True stability is not built on silence or the suppression of dissent, it is built on justice, equity, and accountability.

We urge the leadership of the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Kaduna State Chapter, to redirect its energy towards meaningful ventures that truly liberate Nigerian youths from unemployment, insecurity, illiteracy, and systemic oppression. Rather than serve as willing tools in the hands of those who have failed this country, the NYCN should stand with the people and champion the cause of genuine national transformation.

While Sowore and the Take It Back Movement fight for justice, equity, and freedom, it is shameful that a supposed youth organization like the NYCN has chosen to serve as a propaganda arm for the same corrupt elite who have mortgaged the future of Nigerian youths. Instead of standing with the people, they are standing with the oppressors. That is the real threat to Nigeria’s stability.

The youths of Nigeria deserve a future defined by freedom, opportunity, and dignity – not one policed by the fear of those who dare to dream of a better nation.

History will remember those who stood for truth, and it will not be kind to those who stood in its way.

Signed:
Comrade Shedrack Danladi,
Take It Back Movement (TIB) Coordinator,
Kaduna State Chapter
